WRUP: Patch 5.2 prep

On the the primordial world of "Urth", a primitive race known as "hooman" is busying itself with preparations for an upcoming ritual event. The ritual, which occurs once every few months, is known as "pach'dey", and it brings with it a palpable feeling of excitement for these simple-minded bipeds. This pach'dey looks particularly bountiful for the hoomans, who look forward to seeing exotic new animals, new structures, and even new armaments by the time the ritual is over.

We asked the hoomans how they're preparing for pach'dey.

Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) I'm playing "Try to get tickets to The Book of Mormon." It's a really fun game where I get to go stand in line for a long time.

I'm preparing for the patch by finishing up the Wrathion quest line.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) This weekend is going to be a lot of writing, and maybe working on the alliance alt some more if I have the time. Bonus answer: Well, I just finished the second leg of Wrathion's chain, which was my main focus for getting ready. Now I'm just going to join my guild in trying to beat the snot out of the rest of the heroic content from the first tier. We're having fun with it!

Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid, @alaronmonk) Finally received my Sha-Touched weapon (two weeks before the new patch makes it irrelevant), so I'm setting WoW inside for the moment and playing some Secret World.

Dan Desmond (@Antigen_) I've actually spent a good amount of time lately in Azeroth, most often running old raids for transmog gear. I just finished my T8 set last night sans an appropriate weapon. Anyone have any tips on what goes with Valorous Aegis?

On the 5.2 front, I'm capping valor trying to get my legendary quest wrapped up. I can't explain it, but after a long hiatus of not caring about valor or dailies, it's somewhat refreshing to have things that need to be done.

Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) I'm still sick (got a monster cough), so I'll probably be spending most of my time resting up. I may at least try to get Operation Heartbreaker on ME3MP though.

As far as prepping for the patch, I have been stockpiling Ghost Iron Bars and Trillium for the legendary and new engineering stuff, and I am currently torn between using my VP to upgrade a couple last things, or save it to buy new VP stuff after the patch.

Joe Perez (@lodurzj) Just dinged IRL so this weekend will be filled with friends and family and if I have time I'll throw some gaming in there.

As far as preparing for the patch, I assure you I have top men on it... top.... men...

Lisa Poisso (@lisapoisso) I seem to be having CPU cooling issues, so I will either be underneath my desk taking things apart or on the couch, sulking, with a good book. OK, so it's a really good book, and I probably won't be sulking. Still.

Matt "Matticus" Low (@matticus) A light weekend for me, I think. Need to get all the guild plans and affairs figured out for 5.2 and onwards. This will not be much of a gaming weekend, I'm afraid.

As for patch prep, I think I'll try to set aside some time to start clocking in some dailies. On the challenge mode front, I'm down to Scarlet Monastary and Stormstout Brewery left for golds. Those're the two hardest ones so far.

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) I'm gearing toons, capping valor, and paying repeated visits to shadowfang keep in order to persuade the Crown Chemical Company the give me the tanking necklace. I think I might play some League of Legends if I get the time, too!

And in preparation for the patch, I'm just grinding out points, and continuing to not to dailies, ever. My PvP progression gearing method is still totally viable in patch 5.2! Hurrah!

Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel) I'll be groovily protesting the lack of booze in the Undercity tomorrow morning -- hopefully with many of you hoopy froods.

Bonus: I just go with the flow, man.

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) I've got a busy IRL weekend, so not much gaming other than the usual dailies & farming stuff in WoW.

For the patch, I've been stocking up on various trade goods to sell off when 5.2 hits and prices (hopefully) rise. On a less monetary front, I'm also desperately trying to finish up the 5.1 Wrathion arc.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
