The Queue: Yeah

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) is actually feeling not quite so death-warmed-over today.

If there is ever a day where the last second of the above video is no longer funny to me, I don't think I want to live to see that day.

Yeah.

@thingwhatwows asked via Twitter:

how close to 90 is close enough for my alt(s) to ding when 5.3 hits?

It's being reduced by 33%. So ... 33% from level 90? I'm not sure. Look, math is not my strong suit and I've been under the weather all week, here...

Dobablo asked:

Do the the High Elves have any sort of rep at Alliance meetings? Alleria is missing. Veressa acts mostly as Jaina's majordomo, I thought maybe Archmage Evenshade but he is a Highborne not a High Elf. I guess that leaves either Talthressar or Cpt Auric Sunchaser although the former is likely to be busy looking for his parents while the later has left Outlands and was involved with the Quel'Delar chain at the Sunwell.

Vereesa's pretty much the representative, if you want to look at it that way. She's the representative of the Silver Covenant, which is the only real high elf "organization" to speak of. Keep in mind that when the Scourge ripped through Quel'thalas in the Third War, that wiped out about 80% of the high elf population. Of that 20% left over, only a small fraction didn't stay in Silvermoon and become blood elves as we know them today. The high elf population is ridiculously small. There's not exactly a ton of people there to represent.

Chad C asked:

What's the point of some of the random green enchants? Strength+int or spirit, agility + spirit, etc? Some of them don't really make sense, unless you only want to have one armor set for dual roles while leveling. Actually, now that I think about it, what's the point of so much relatively crappy green gear in general when it usually isn't even close to as good as stuff you can buy from vendors or easily get from a quest or crafting?

A lot of that low-level gear was from vanilla, or from expansions a very long time ago -- stats were very, very different back then. Although I still don't know anyone who legitimately used an "of the Whale" piece for anything.

the_DECk asked:

QftQ: I've often thought of the vendors with white items too. Since there is not much use for them today, what do you think Blizzard could do to breath new life into them?

Let us use the items for transmogrification. I'm not kidding here.

JosephMoore asked:

What is this PvE/PvP thing with Isle of Thunder? I hardly played since it came out because of my college classes, but I did dip my toes into the two new islands a little bit (and was greatly overwhelmed and thought they were one island).

Patch 5.2 introduced a new twist to the daily system -- you can choose either PvE or PvP dailies to complete each day. They'll both give you reputation with your respective faction, whatever that happens to be. PvE quests will give you PvE appropriate rewards -- PvP quests will give you PvP appropriate rewards. PvP quests will also flag you for PvP -- so if you'd rather avoid world PvP, I'd suggest just sticking to the PvE quests.

@bubble_hearth asked via Twitter:

When Operation Sheildwall came out, we saw Draenei Vindicators everywhere. Do we assume Draenei are "involved" again?

Of course! The draenei never really pulled their involvement -- they just haven't been as active as the other Alliance races. Hopefully we'll see more of the draenei as time goes on. They're long overdue for some sort of activity.

@WoWLoreLover asked via Twitter:

What are the odds of ever seeing Tol Barad in-game?

Well ... uh, if you visit your capital city, you can take a portal to Tol Barad right now if you like. It was added as a daily hub in Cataclysm.
