Benjamin Rivers' Home spooking up iOS this Thursday, OSX this summer

One-man indie development studio Benjamin Rivers' side-scrolling pixel art horror game Home will be available for iOS devices this Thursday, June 20. The Universal App will cost $2.99 and feature new content, new terrifying environments to explore and updated story elements.

Rivers has also established a website to showcase the spooky real-world environments people play his game in – anyone who Tweets, Instagrams or Vines their eerie gaming location of choice using the hashtag #homehorror has a chance of making it into the collection.

Meanwhile, the OSX version of Home should be released sometime this summer, Rivers announced, adding that the improvements made for the iOS version of the game will be transferred to existing and future desktop versions at some point in the future.

Home hits iOS on June 20th; Mac this Summer

The indie horror title that was listed as one of Computer and Videogames' "20 Essential PC games of 2012" is finally coming to iOS devices, and soon!

Home has been reprogrammed almost entirely from scratch; it's smoother, faster and runs great even on a fourth-generation iPod Touch, and looks fantastic on iPhones and iPads. The game features new content, lots of new and rewritten text, and a new area to explore. Best of all, it's universal! Buy it once and play on all your devices for just $2.99 USD.

New ways to share
You can now take this critically-acclaimed horror experience with you anywhere, and we want to know just where that is! After iOS users play through Home, they'll be asked to share their thoughts and experiences. Now, though, we want players to upload images of where they play the game to Twitter, Instagram and Vine, and use #homehorror to let us know! We'll be compiling images on the game's new mobile site after launch (www.homehorror.com/mobile/).

On track for Mac
Mac users can finally subject themselves to Home's brain-teasing mystery this summer! Even better: all the great improvements and features from the iOS version of the game will be made available to Mac and PC players. More information on this will be announced soon.
