Your smartphone and / or tablet is just begging for an update. From time to time, these mobile devices are blessed with maintenance refreshes, bug fixes, custom ROMs and anything in between, and so many of them are floating around that it's easy for a sizable chunk to get lost in the mix. To make sure they don't escape without notice, we've gathered every possible update, hack, and other miscellaneous tomfoolery we could find during the last week and crammed them into one convenient roundup. Official Android updates
Samsung Galaxy Note II: An OTA update is available from AT&T that weighs in at 165MB and is said to bring security fixes and fresh versions of the carrier's bundled apps. [Android Police]
HTC One Google Play edition: The latest build of Android 4.3 (JWR66Y) is now available as an OTA update, which brings security improvements and little else. [Android Central]
Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition: Like the HTC One, build JWR66Y of Android 4.3 is now available as an OTA update. [Android Police]
HTC Droid DNA: Verizon is detailing forthcoming improvements that users will find in the Sense 5 update, which HTC states will be based on Android 4.3. [Droid Life]
Unofficial Android updates, custom ROMs and misc. hackery
HTC One: Following similar leaks of custom ROMs, the official (albeit pre-release) version of Android 4.3 has leaked for the HTC One on AT&T. As such, the software isn't rooted and all of the bloatware is intact. [RootzWiki]
LG G2: A root method is now available for the G2, and is said to work with all variants of the smartphone. [xda-developers]
MotoRoot: An Android utility is now available from Justin Case that brings root to the Moto X, Droid Ultra, Droid Mini and Droid Maxx. [Android Police]
Other platforms
Nokia Lumia 620: The Amber update with Windows Phone 8 GDR 2 is now available from O2 in the UK and Telus in Canada. [WPCentral]
BlackBerry Curve 9360, Bold 9790 and Bold 9900: A new round of updates is available from Telus that brings additional NFC functionality and resolves network connectivity issues on the Bold 9900. [CrackBerry]
BlackBerry PlayBook: PlayBook OS 2.1.0.1753 is now available, which weighs in at 396MB and brings a handful of bug fixes, along with a security fix for Adobe Flash. [CrackBerry]
