Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is ready for Halloween
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Judging from some of my old costumes, it should've been clear to my parents I was always going to turn out to be a nerd. We're talking Sub-Zero, Sonic the Hedgehog, even Bucky O'Hare! Side note: Hey, remember Bucky O'Hare?!
And it's not just the opportunity to dress up, Halloween is also a holiday where we get to scare ourselves silly. In my hometown, we used to have an annual haunted house put together by the local families, and man, if it wasn't great. I think my favorite year was when I played the part of a chestburster victim in the room my dad had constructed. I would scream for help and right as the Xenomorph (which was made from a painted sock and a Slinky, by the way) was "born," the lights went out and my dad would use a squirt gun hidden behind the wall to make people think they'd been hit with blood. Ah, good times. Good times. Family bonding.
