Italy-based indie studio MixedBag announced that an enhanced and extended version of its wildly colorful rail shooter Futuridium is coming soon to the PlayStation Vita.

Mixing elements from the arcade classic Zaxxon and Commodore 64 shooter Uridium, Futuridium is a forward-scrolling shoot-'em-up in which players swoop across the surfaces of massive space dreadnoughts, destroying any obstacles they encounter. Players aim to destroy power cubes during each run through the trenches, eventually revealing the enemy vessel's life-sustaining power core.

Originally released as freeware for Windows and Mac, Futuridium will hit the Vita with a collection of new gameplay modes, new levels, and an overhauled audiovisual presentation. A release date has not been announced.
