WRUP: Just a little haiku

guild-bank-pun

Some say that haiku is done. That as an internet art form, the haiku has been beaten to death and left on the roadside. But we few, we happy few, we band of bloggers, say that there is yet a little life one can drag free from the beaten style and left to your enjoyment.

So this weekend, we've offered you not only the games that we will be playing. We also offer a bit of our souls in the form of a few poems. Make sure you don't miss out on Rossi's epic lyrics, in particular. I think they'll please even the most hardened prose addict.

But what about you, dear reader? What will you be playing this weekend? We'd like to know. Leave a comment below so that we may know a little more about your deepest, darkest soul. We're curious, and we promise not to tell your family.

Adam Holisky (@adamholisky)
I don't Haiku
It's much to overused
Is this ok?

I'll be running SoO LFR on my new paladin (not boosted, leveled the old school way). Maybe go and get some healing gear too and venture into PvP. Heroes will also be a thing this weekend. It'll be yar.

Oh my gosh pretty pony
This should be easy to get!
...pyroblast can go to hell

I may mess around on Hearthstone this weekend now that I have gotten the obligatory three wins out of the way for my hearthsteed and can instead concentrate on finding cards and combos that are ridiculously fun and irritating instead of simply trying to beat three people with a fairly basic deck. Mages. I can't stand mage decks. Other than that, maybe a little WoW, but I have some house projects to take care of too. Painting! Always with the painting.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow)
I won't play Hearthstone,
Even though it is out now,
Need iPad version.

Stuck on heroics,
Can't do this 'til December,
Will murder a mage.

(Mage can be substituted for "lock" or "priest.")

Elizabeth Harper (@Faience) I am going to see Night Vale and hang out with @LisaPoisso. Unfortunately, being irl social means less time for gaming. Maybe I'll catch up on some iPad games.

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives)
Level 90 now
Could not stand leveling mage
PoM Pyro

As noted above, I used my free 90 on a mage, which I always wanted to play but could never stomach leveling. Other than that, I'll be leveling my hunter and lock, and wondering why I can't stop playing Borderlands 2. Ultimate Vault Hunter time!

Kristin Marshall (@kristin)
Oh yes please Alpha
How I wish I had access
Refrigerator

I'll probably be raiding and knocking out a few CMs this weekend. Outside of WoW, I don't think I'll have much time to play anything else - I'm working on personal projects!

I found myself alone in a strange land
A world at war, of heroes mighty and strange
where fate conspires to strand us in a cage
Fight, it demands, fight on in this Nexus
and prove yourselves. I answer with my steel
and magic for I am born to this, and rampage.

Against these Heroes of this Storm strange
and unfamiliar ways of combat show the steel
and inner will to victory. Demons rampage
and heroes seek to bottle them within a cage
of defeat and destruction. Who will the Nexus
reward with victory? Who will dominate the land?

I cannot delude myself - I find all this strange
and unfamiliar, the ways of combat transcend steel
and spell, tactics that I cannot simply rampage
to overcome. Strategy of this sort is the cage
that binds me prisoner, and if I seek to rule this Nexus
I must adapt and overcome. So demands this land

I find myself engaged in thoughts of fire, rampage
and destruction. From Sanctuary and Azeroth to Nexus
my mind is ranging - so many games to play! A cage
of my own making, I admit it, but I still feel my steel
is needed in Orgrimmar. Thok awaits. It's strange
to admit we have so much time left in this land

before the coming of the Warlords, where our steel
and spells will be more gainfully employed. That land
of Draenor beckons me more than even the Nexus
could manage, but alas, I must wait in this cage
of anticipation. Oh, when will we be allowed to rampage
against the Iron Horde! This wait, it makes me so strange

and wont to set this email on a roar! My mind's a cage
that whirls in futile thought. So I'll flee to the Nexus,
and dally with Heroes amidst the Storm, for land
and sky are all awaiting conquest. My will is steel
upon this concept - Diablo flies, and although I'm strange
to say it, it's a fair and wondrous place to rampage.

This is what you get when you ask me for a poem.

Tech Alpha begins
Nexus reveals its Heroes
WoD releases late

This weekend I'm helping some friends move, which will be entertaining given that my back isn't in a great place at the moment. I'll move all their cups. Outside of that, doing the typical rating push to get my lazy backside some decent ladder position, and weapons a week early. I'm talking about WoW arenas, of course! Apart from that, I'm going to be playing a metric ton of Heroes of the Storm. I was really pleased to get into the Alpha, and am having a lot of fun with the game... although the battle.net desktop app is driving me half-mad with its instability.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
