Dungeon Defenders Eternity includes gear for sequel

The original Dungeon Defenders now comes in an all-in-one package called Dungeon Defenders Eternity. The $15 bundle includes "previously released material, new content, redesigned gameplay balance and cross-platform play." Owners of the original game on PC, Mac and Linux can upgrade for $6.

There's also a package with "less content" on Android Tegra Devices for $9.99. It'll arrive on other Android devices, iPhones and iPad later this year. There's also a browser version at Playverse.com.

"Dungeon Defenders Eternity is in many ways a product of our players, built around feedback from fans. Having an open dialogue with our fans is core to all our efforts at Trendy, and that same philosophy is being actively applied to our work on the sequel as well," said Trendy CEO Darrell Rodriguez.

DDE adds four new missions, with "more to come for free post launch." It will also have a Hall of Triumphs where players can unlock special items, titles and pets for use in Dungeon Defenders 2. That game, last we heard, should be out sometime this year.

Gainesville, FL – July 22, 2014 – Trendy Entertainment today launched Dungeon Defenders Eternity, an enhanced edition of their multi-platform tower defense meets action-RPG hit, Dungeon Defenders. Eternity is the definitive version of Dungeon Defenders, featuring previously released material, new content, redesigned gameplay balance and cross-platform play. The game will also unlock exclusive content in the upcoming sequel, Dungeon Defenders II, shortly after launch. Eternity is available now on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux, and on Android Tegra devices. It is also the first Unreal Engine 3 game to be fully playable in a web browser.

Dungeon Defenders Eternity has been rebuilt from the ground up. Players can still slice, shoot and pulverize their enemies – or build defenses to do the dirty work for them – alone or with up to three friends. The new title rebalances the game's heroes, redesigns the loot system and gives players even more tools to survive against the Old One's army. Moreover, Eternity runs entirely through dedicated servers using playverse, creating a level playing field secure from cheating and hacking.
Players that purchase Dungeon Defenders Eternity gain access to previously released content for Dungeon Defenders, as well as a plethora of new improvements, including visible armor that reflects each player's unique equipment, a new dashing system, stat and ability-boosting consumables, ability-granting amulets and much more. The game launches with four new missions, with more to come for free post launch. After launch the new Hall of Triumphs will activate, where players can unlock special items, titles and pets for use in Dungeon Defenders II.
Dungeon Defenders Eternity also features diverse cross-platform play options. Those who download the Android version for NVIDIA's Tegra, for example, can defend Etheria on the go or on a web browser, by logging into Trendy's new backend platform, playverse. As the title expands onto iPhone, iPad and other Android systems later this year, cross-platform play will continue to assure players can access all their content with the same account on any device at any time.
Dungeon Defenders Eternity is available now on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux at special 25% launch discount for $15; owners of the original Dungeon Defenders can upgrade to Eternity for $6.
