Manything turns any iOS device into a home video monitoring system

Video security for your home or small business just got a lot easier and a lot less expensive thanks to Manything. Manything is an all-in-one home video monitoring system for iOS that allows you to stream, record, and view video remotely from any iOS device using iOS 5 or later. That means your old iPhone 3GS just became a WiFI video camera instead of gathering dust.

Using the free iOS app, you can record video and audio to the cloud or watch via a live stream on your device or desktop. Manything features a special motion detection zone ability which allows you to set the exact areas you want to be monitored for motion detection. If you're only worried about the cash register or the cookie jar, you can limit the app to just detect when those specific areas of a video capture have movement. IFTTT integration means you can do things like have Manything start recording when you leave your house, which is a handy feature.

Manything also provides detailed metadata for each stream, including differentiating between sound and movement with different colored waveforms. Red waves represent movement in the video, while blue waves represent sound.

Currently the comes with 30 days of continuous cloud recording for free, but the company is open about its impending tiered pricing plan. Every user gets 12 hours of free recording on one active device per month. The next tier, for people with temporary needs, is seven hours for $4.99 a month with two recording devices. Finally there is a 30 day option for $14.99 per month which includes up to five recording devices.

All plans come with unlimited live viewing, motion activated alerts, and clip making tools for your videos. Manything says it is currently working on enterprise pricing, which should be announced in the near future. You can try out Manything for free right now by downloading the app in the iTunes Store.
