Resident Evil: Revelations 2 box art spotted on Xbox.com

Leaked box art straight from Microsoft's official Xbox.com site points towards a sequel to Resident Evil: Revelations, the horror shooter that transitioned from 3DS to big screens last year. As spotted by French site Gamer in a Box, the Xbox.com site hosts the Xbox 360 box art image for Biohazard Revelations 2, Biohazard of course being the Japanese name for Resident Evil. The above screenshot is also hosted in the same folder as the box art image.

This isn't the first time we've seen Resident Evil Revelations 2 appear in the online shadows. In the summer, Russian retailer VideoIGR posted then swiftly removed a listing for the game, with pre-orders available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3. As Hardcore Gamer reports, the retailer also listed (then removed) DmC: Devil May Cry Ultimate for PS4 and Xbox One, suggesting a possible remaster of the 2013 PS3 and Xbox 360 hack-and-slash. [Update: When approached about the Xbox.com images, a company spokesperson told Joystiq, "Capcom has made no announcements."]

Check out the box art below the break.

If the images are accurate, the timing and the Japanese title suggests a possible Tokyo Game Show reveal for Resident Evil Revelations 2 next month, and perhaps other Capcom games on the new generation of consoles. Clearly there's a market there for it, after the console and PC ports reached 1.1 million sales within 9 months of release.
