The Queue: Hard labor

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

I didn't sleep much last night and it's supposed to be a holiday here in the US. Let's just do this thing.

@EctoMaster asked:

Blizzard has said there will not be an alt-azeroth exploration but, what do think u think became of our world in alt-draenor?

The orcs never showed up to slaughter Azeroth's native heroes, deities, guardians, dragons, kings, etc, and thus alternate Azeroth lives happily ever after.

JeffLaBowski asked:

What's cooking for Labor Day? I'm going with Italian sausage. I'd rather have steak though. I might have to go get some steak or ground beef for burgers.

I'm sticking with burgers. It feels like I should be doing something more complex, but ... you can't beat burgers.

MathemaTigris asked:

I was wondering, because I've not seen it anywhere online, whether they've canned the "Heirloom Storage" feature that they were working on. I was also wondering whether heirlooms will continue to function as they currently do, or whether they'll "switch stats with spec" like the gear in WoD will be doing.

It was Rygarius who said the heirloom tab won't be making it into Warlords -- at least not at launch. Many thanks to HerrKlokbok for finding the tweet:

I don't think heirlooms are getting the new stat functionality, but I'm not currently able to log onto the beta to check. That functionality is mostly found on new items rather than retroactively applied to all old gear.

Whiteout asked:

If you could bring back one questline, in its original state, that is no longer in game, which would you choose?

All the old class quests, some for the gameplay and others for the rewards. The gameplay of all of the old paladin quests, for example, was a whole lot of fun. Then there were the level 50-ish class quests that offered pretty neat items, such as the Ebon Mask for rogues. Beyond the class quests, I'd like to generally restore the Plaguelands. They were my favorite zones for years. The Cataclysm updates offer some fun quests and story progression, but none of it comes close to the atmosphere of vanilla plaguelands. Darrowshire, the super deadly Andorhal, the Scarlet Crusade strongholds, Light's Hope Chapel, Alliance raids on Blightcaller ... ye olde Plaguelands was some of the best stuff WoW's ever done, I think, and no one will ever be able to see it again.

@RyanWVoll asked:

my internet is too slow for dungeon/raid, so how casual friendly is WOD for a player like myself? I'm thinking of coming back.

I don't feel it's any different from previous expansions on that front. You can't get the best of the best gear without raiding, but you don't need it, either. Anything you could solo previously, you still can.

@AdamDamon asked:

What's the reason for the "money" sound while on flight paths?

Taking a flight path costs money. The sound effect is you paying for your flight.
