Start the legendary quest at level 98, get an epic ring

The Warlords of Draenor legendary quest will culminate with a powerful ring instead of a cloak like in Mists of Pandaria. Similar to Wrathion's quest, you'll be given smaller rewards as you progress through Khadgar's quest that will ultimately lead up to the legendary version. However, instead of sockets or gems, you will be focusing on the ring from the start. You can actually get the first version of the ring (ilvl 640) before you even hit level 100 (though you do need to be 100 to equip it).

The quest becomes available at level 98 and starts in your garrison. Continue after the break to learn how to get it.



How to get your ring

  • Once you hit level 98, head back to your garrison and look for Khadgar's Servant. He'll be patrolling around your garrison, giving some unlucky NPCs an eternal tour of your garrison. He'll have an orange legendary quest marker above his head.

  • Khadgar's Servant will give you the quest Call of the Archmage which sends you back to Talador, specifically Zangarra to the north east. You may have already picked up the flight path when questing, but if you haven't then the closest paths are probably Fort Wrynn for the Alliance and Vol'jin's Pride for the Horde.

  • Once you reach Zangarra, take the portal near the flight path to fly over to Khadgar's Tower. You'll find Khadgar standing inside.

  • Khadgar will give you the quest Spires of the Betrayer. This simply requires killing the final boss of the Skyreach (97-100) dungeon on normal mode.

  • Loot High Sage Viryx after the dungeon is complete and bring the Pure Solium Band back to Khadgar.

  • Listen to Khadgar's speech and claim your epic ring!

  • You can buy replacements or rings for your other specs from Zooti Fizzlefury, just outside the tower.

The next step of the quest will upgrade your ring to ilvl 680 and involves killing several heroic bosses, as well as collecting a bunch of Apexis Crystals. We'll cover that step in the future as more players make it to level 100 and are capable of doing heroic dungeons.
