The Queue: Buffalo in the house

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) thinks buffaloes are pretty awesome, actually.

That is a buffalo that probably should not be in a home but inexplicably is, for whatever reason. But our first question is from a Buffalo who should presumably be in a home and is far less, you know, covered in hair and likely to stampede if frightened or threatened.

g8rcody asked:

My name is Buffalo, and tomorrow is my birthday! Can we have a buffalo themed queue? It's a WoW Insider tradition!

It is by now, isn't it? I'd hate to break the streak. Happy birthday!

Revnah asked:

Q4tQ: Why are podlings evil? I mean, I get why they'd be annoyed when I gather "their" plant, but they aren't just unfriendly to strangers who stumble upon them, they are actively evil - think of Phlox in the Alliance quest line. Is there any story reason for this, that I have overlooked in quest text or similar? Enlighten me, please :-)

I wouldn't say podlings are evil so much as they have a unique worldview in which we are food. Slightly smarter food than wolves or elekks, but still food. Beyond that, we are intruding on their territory and stepping all over the nice grass and plant life -- and Draenor's flora in general doesn't seem to appreciate any damage to the landscape. We're a threat, even if we don't really consider ourselves a threat. The podlings don't really differentiate between draenei, orcs, Iron Horde, Alliance, Horde -- we're all threats to Draenor's plant life, it doesn't matter where we've come from.

Conspiracy theory: Yrel is alternate Maraad. Discuss.

How about Yrel and Samaara are the Eredar twins in our timeline? That's my current favorite theory.

Loco asked:

Inn headhunter question: So let's say you picked an ability or a trait and you are offered 3 candidates. If you select one you are done for a week - makes sense. What happens if you don't? Do you get other choices in an hour or a day or are you stuck with those 3 options?

You're stuck with those three options -- she won't arbitrarily give you three more to choose from. You can either pick from the three that she's found for you, or pass on choosing and wait until the following week to try again.

ScottLeyes asked:

Lore Q for Anne: At the Throne of the Elements in Nagrand, we do a quest chain with Vindicator Nobundo. <<SPOILERS>> to follow

I got the distinct impression that Nobundo was conflicted, or "feeling" the elements, but WE (the player) ends up doing the "elemental stuff". Is this just flavor, or will we see Nobundo become a "real" shaman?

I don't know if we'll ever see Nobundo become a "real" shaman in this expansion, but that quest seems to indicate that he's destined for that path whether he is Broken or not. The elements have called to him for help, because they think he can get the job done -- and he does, in his way, by sending you to take care of things and helping you out along the way. It's an interesting quest chain because it seems to indicate that Nobundo is and always has been destined for this path, should he choose to take it. In our world, he chose to take it because he had nothing else. In this world, he has the Light -- so what wins out in the end? Either way, I hope we see more from him in future patches.

CaptainCakewalk asked:

Q4tQ: Does Blackhand actually die when that ship blows up or is he going to come back to try and beat us into submission later on? I really REALLY want to sink my Druids claws into him, he deserves nothing less!

The ship was merely a setback. We'll see him again ... later.

Loco asked:

Follower question: I see players with a saberon / cat person as a bodyguard. Where do you get that? There is none in the list on WoWhead ...

That is Leorajh -- he's a little harder to find than most followers, but if you can find him, he's easy enough to recruit. We wrote up a guide on him not too long ago! He's been one of my better followers, one of the few I have that can mitigate Group Damage.

gazaa07 asked:

Q4tQ: does anyone know what the ilvl cap is for followers?

At the moment, it's 655. Maybe we'll see that get bumped up once Blackrock Foundry comes out, who knows?
