Good bye $0.99 apps in the Canadian App Store, say hello to $1.19

The App Store

The days of $0.99 in the Canadian App Store have come to an end, thanks to the falling value of the Canadian loonie. We reported on the impending price increases late last week, with the actual increases starting last Thursday.

Apps that were previously $0.99 are now $1.19, a 20% increase. Most other apps have only seen a 15% increase according to CTV NEW in Canada.

$1.99 apps are now $2.29, $2.99 apps are up to $3.49, $3.99 apps have risen to $4.59, and $4.99 apps are bumped up to $5.79.

The increase is a move on Apple's part to ensure that revenue generated in each of the international App Stores is on par with the other stores. This is the first time that the Canadian App Store has seen such an increase.
