As an intern, Dana answered Oprah's phone calls and once penned a rejection letter for Gerard Depardieu's eponymous cookbook. Yet somehow she landed in the far geekier profession of tech writing, first for Laptop Mag and, later, the AP. She received her first computer at four and spent the ensuing years indoors, playing Sim City, Sim Tower and, when she was really bored, Sim Farm. She sorely misses Conquest of the New World and rues the day her father beat Super Mario World while she was at sleepaway camp. An avid runner, she now spends time outside, but still uses an Excel spreadsheet to tally her mileage. It is her firmest belief that every photography nerd (or anyone, really) should find a way to go to the Galapagos.
