Is there an OS X command to regroup all windows onto current screen?
details
I often use a multi-monitor setup when I'm in the office (screens spread over two 24-inch monitors and my 15-inch MacBook Pro monitor -- I call it the Community Satisfaction Command Center). When I unplug for the day and head home, OS X collapses all the windows onto my laptop's screen, but it's not totally ideal.
For example, when I get home, I'll click on the icon for Airmail. It appears nothing happens. I click again, and I notice in the bottom right corner of the screen is a small smidgen of... Read more →

How do you create a keyboard shortcut for signing documents in Preview?
details
I sign a lot of documents on my Mac, and Preview's built in signature tool is a pretty fantastic, lightweight means of doing so. The only problem is it takes numerous clicks to get to initiate a signing, which can get pretty annoying.
So how does one create a keyboard shortcut for signing in Preview (i.e. Preview.app)?
The primary problem I'm seeing with the system shortcuts tool (Preferences > Keyboard > Shorcuts > App Shortcuts) is that the signatures Preview uses are listed in the... Read more →

Task management software for Mac?
details
I know Things, Omnifocus, and 2Do are popular suites but they also have really high entry points with the cheapest being 2Do at $30. I know there are online services like Any.do, Nozbe, Todoist, Wunderlist, Producteev, etc but sometimes they're a little to basic. I don't need a full fledged software suite like Project or something that is 100% GTD focused.
What I mainly need is something that provides a simple way to see my tasks for the day while also giving me an easy way to store new ideas and... Read more →

Screenshot / screengrab library apps for Mac?
details
I'm looking for something to help me organize the massive overabundance of screengrabs I take. What screenshot library apps are good?

I heard LittleSnapper (http://www.realmacsoftware.com/littlesnapper/) was decent, but $40 is intense. Anything else worthwhile?

Best lightweight Mac text editors for long form writing?
details
I realized this morning that I'm actually super dissatisfied with my text editing setup. (I find this pretty amusing because I'm usually pretty in tune with which tools I love and which aren't cutting it for me.)
I'm actually pretty happy with my note-taking setup, which is Simplenote paired with Justnotes (recently swapped out from Notational Velocity). But I really don't have much good going on for long form text editing. I've tried a number of apps, but haven't found something I'm very into.... Read more →

Has Apple ever changed a release build that's gone GM (golden master)?
details
http://media.gdgt.com/img/products/457/9spp/9spp-460.jpg
As you might have heard, Mountain Lion went GM today. For those not in the know, in the software world GM (golden master) refers to a final build that's considered complete and ready to ship to customers -- it's the software equivalent of a completed master recording of an album.
GM software is usually released to manufacturing and distribution channels (hence the acronym RTM), and becomes available to consumers at some predetermined point... Read more →
