I can't afford a $10,000 TV, but that seems like a pretty good price for an LCD that nice (assuming, of course, all the other specs work out - response time, contrast ratios, etc). That figure of $10K was the hoped for release price, by the end of the year, from the spokesperson of the Taiwanese OEM. That is presumably the wholesale price for the panel. I will now pull a bunch of numbers out of my... hat. Add another $2,000 or so for their cost on the case, electronics and assembly gets you to about $12,000. They in turn sell it to the dealer for maybe 20% markup which gets you to $14,400. The MSPR will be set with about a 60% markup from that so it will be about $23,000 which will translate to about $18,000 street price.<br><br><br><br>That should clear everything up.]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[Clint Johnson]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Jan 12th 2006 5:25PM</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
