Looks great - I'd even buy one.<br><br>But, my question is, why didn't mac make a touchscreen like this?  I remember back in the 80's my aunt  (a mac hardware engineer) brought home a touchscreen clip on for her mac and I thought it was pretty cool.<br><br>Now Apple has the iphone UI  - if they blew it up to the size of a computer, it would be just as good as one of these all-in-one family "kitchen" computers...so why not? I need to replace my computer at work, that I have had since 2000, which is used primarily for word processing and Internet. Due to the age of my current computer this will be huge upgrade.  Additionally, it will be compact, take up a lot less space on my desk, eliminate the tower by my feet and have a touch screen too boot, all for a very reasonable price.<br><br>My only complaint, it appears all of the USB ports are on the back of the machine. Why, for instance, does selecting the notes program bring up a clock first? I would think that if someone's touching that icon, they want to write a note, not know what the time is.<br><br>And the virtual keyboard's capitalisation mechanism is unnecessarily complicated - why not simply press and hold to capitalise? In order to change links and the icons and descriptions for extra programs I installed, I had to meddle 1. with the registry (for the links), 2. with the files on the hard disk (for the icons) and 3. with a hex editor on the coded configuration file. And the thing is, that this configuration file suggests that ASUS has a tool that automatically creates these files for the easy menu, so I wonder why it's not available to the community...<br><br>Apart from the menu probs, the machine ocasionally "forgets" that it has a wireless card and sometime forgets the Opera settings. Both can be taken care of by a reboot and I cannot say whether this is a production series problem or just our EEE Top.<br><br>Don't let these two comments fool you though, the EEE Top is a fantastic little device, that makes computing so much easier especially for those that didn't already have a Commodore 64 in their crib. Skype video telephony, TV, Email, webbrowsing, all works with the ease of touching a (large and easily visible) button.
