AC adapter for international users

Google are charging USD$20 for a country specific ac adapter. i'm wondering if i can omit this and use the supplied US charger + a travel adapter to save myself some $$?

or simply stick to usb charging from a computer?

or even usb charging from the wall via an apple ac/usb adapter?

apparently you can use a simple & cheap travel adapter, or simply stick to usb charging from a computer or or even usb charging from the wall via an apple ac/usb adapter.
I'm looking forward to receive my new Nexus

Yes, the charger is a standard micro-USB device. You should be able to pick up a country-specific generic micro-USB charger with no problem. It will charge directly from a computer without any problems either. I imagine it might even work with an iPhone charger, since you could just plug the USB-A end of the micro-USB cable into one :)
