Anyone can put anything in their Have, Want, or Had list... I almost thought of putting it in my Have list just to prove a point, but I don't care. Do you really want the gdgt moderators to have to sift through these devices and boot people or remove them from a Have list because the product hasn't launched yet. Its much ado about nothing.... (which is a great movie btw...)
I'm not asking the gdgt mods to do anything.
I'm calling out Fourblades on whether he truly has Chrome OS, is mistaking this for the Chrome browser, or is a poseur. For all I know he works for Google.
Crunchpad, for example, has one listed "have" - and it's Arrington himself.
(It's an even better play btw, though Emma Thompson was crazy hot in the movie. "I have drunk poison while he utter'd it")
calling out people like that will just make more people do it cuz they know you hate it! :P
Emma Thompson is the good times in that and I would take almost any movie over its play equivalent... I guess they're just so damned convenient! I hardly ever see plays anymore...
Oh I don't hate it. I'm more poking fun than anything.
thank you for keeping the peace kind sir! "senor lackbeard!"
I'm an inveterate poker :P
I'm thinking all these "have" people (or at least the majority of them) are confusing Chrome OS with Chrome browser.
Or they could possibly work with some relation to Google, and have access to the OS.
Could be, I doubt that applies to the majority of them though.
In my experience most Google and Youtube employees wear their employment on their sleeve and don't use Flickr (unlike Fourblades).
In fact the only Google employee I've ever met (that I'm aware of) who didn't mention their association with Google within the first two minutes is Sergey Brin. I've probably met a few people who work at Google and didn't mention it, but I've met dozens who have (similar to Apple employees, they are rightfully rather proud of their employer).
I have a number of friends who work for Google and they're much more modest than that. :-P
same, and most google employees i've met didn't say where they worked until i had asked. must be context...
Maybe they've all chilled out since I lived in the Bay Area. In 2004 it was definitely the norm. Of course, 2004 was a very exciting time for Google.
It wasn't a bad thing, it was just amusing.
I was the same way back when my employer was still him (in 1999).
possibly... for me there was a time when it was "omg so cool!!" and now it's more like, "oh, you too?". :)
everyones just b.s.'in! lol
Chrome is running my coffee machine.
It's so amazing.
I want to bronze this comment. I haven't laughed so hard in days!
Oh lord, how embarrassing. A joke thread I started is now posted as a "big debate".
I have Google Chrome, it totally sux, iPhone is way better.
Ok, ok, sorry... this site is just way too civil :D I do agree that it's stupid to put something on your "Have" list before the release date, and perhaps it should be prevented via code, with an exception, where your employer in your profile matches the manufacturer of the device you claim to own before said release date ^_^
When i started to read your i was about to go get my bat, but i do agree with you, although i wish i worked for a tech company all i get to do is mess around with multimillion dollar machines which isn't as fun as it sounds.
oops, that's suppose to be want! I'll change it! I didn't think I'd start chaos...
It's alright, we, the collected minds of gdgt, still love you. :D
I've done that more than a few times myself. I was hoping you really had it so we could pester you to get the inside scoop.

You can download a boot CD with Android on it, and boot your laptop off it, looks just like an Google phone with massive icons :-)
Well although i am all for that, its not really Chrome. A better thing would be to delete all your apps, and put Chrome into the startup menu so it boots every time you login.
