FOOLS WHO THINK THE SENSOR BAR WILL MERELY BE USED TOFLAIL AROUND IN GAMES, wrap your minds around this.

Many games will still focus pimarily on controllers, yet take advantage of kinect for boss battles, powerups, special moves, and lots of other awesome features/gestures.

Bioshock 3... To use a plasmid, simply take your hand off the controller and throw a fireball.

You get the point. Thoughts? Other ideas?

I'm looking forward to waving (ahaha) goodbye to the remote with integration of kinect into the media center extender functionality. Assuming they do that, of course.

From my understanding the sensitivity is high enough that it can act as a virtual controller. So maybe it shows a virtual gamepad by zooming in on your hand. I imagine something like you hold your hands in a fist. To shoot you aim your finger with your left hand a pretend to pull a trigger with your right. For adventure games maybe rotate your first in the direction you want to go kinda like a joystick. To do an action you either mimic that action (saying fishing, or opening a door, or switching guns) or point your palm in a specific direction. (up, left, right, forward). Menu navigation would be always voice activated or use hand swipes to mimic scrolling. The best part though is that when you buy the hardware you are buying the technology for the next 5 years through software improvement.

If i was designing a game like bioshock here is an example i might use. To move you lean forward, to rotate you rotate your shoulders, to strafe you lean left or right. To move your camera you use your hands to mimic rotating a ball in mid-air. To shoot you do what I said above. To use a plasmid you mimic the action. For items that are the same like maybe fireball and iceball, you simply say "fireball" then use the action. To get health you pretend you are stiming yourself up. The only problem I forsee is that humans react much faster with a joystick then they do with their body. This has given video games a superpowerful feeling to them. It might make games feel too realistic lol.
