From Ryan's liveblog:

“I’m thrilled to announce AT&T is going to make an incredibly generous upgrade offer. If your contract expires any time in 2010, you are immediately eligible for a new iPhone 4 at the same 199 or 299 prices if you top up your contract 2 years.”

I think this is the best evidence we have seen yet that AT&T's exclusivity will end this year. I seriously doubt they are doing this just to be nice. This is a great way to lock everyone in who might choose to jump ship later this year.

Looks like it, I hope the quadband HSPA means T-mobile gets it sooner than later!

I would have to agree. I think I'm going to hold out on upgrading to see any other carriers are announced in the future.

Oh and WIFI only for video calls is a good thing. It would eat up your stupid 2GB AT&T cap *QUICKLY*

Within 18 months on the outside and 6 months maybe -- or why else would the new iPhone 4 be Quadband?

Checking out the Apple specs, looks like its quadband so Apple can penetrate more markets. Probably will have very little to do with T-mobile USA getting it any time soon since the bands don't include TMO's 1700mhz AWS.

UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
