gdgt Zeitgeist 2012 Part II: Most-Wanted Products
If you’re a gdgt member, you already know about our lists; you can build a list of every gadget you currently have, used to have, or want, share those lists with friends on social networks, and see what gadgets you have in common with your friends on gdgt. The lists are also a great way for us to track which new products are most popular with our members, and the tables below show some interesting patterns. As expected, there are a lot of Apple products on all of the lists, but our members also wanted -- and bought -- some other hot products in 2012, including the Asus Nexus 7 tablet and Samsung Galaxy S III phone. And, as our members upgraded, the gear they got rid of (which includes pre-2012 gadgets) was also dominated by Apple products, along with older gaming consoles like the first-gen Xbox 360. (Come back later this week, and we’ll share some of the also-rans: gadgets that didn’t make the top 10 in any of these lists, but were still coveted/purchased/discarded by a lot of our members.) What did you add to your lists in 2012? Now’s the time to update them for the new year, if you haven’t already done so. And if you’re not a gdgt member, now would be a great time to join and start building your lists!

Sometimes I really do feel like I'm playing on my PS3. It's my favorite travel buddy outside of my iPhone. The iPad's game selection doesn't even come close to the immersive feeling you can get with the PS Vita. For new owners Uncharted: GA, Mutant Blobs, Escape Plan, Mortal Kombat and WipEout 2048 are all must plays.
I find it interesting that although Apple has massive sales figures, they still have plenty of users that want their products.
Of course, I don't actually have the iPhone 5 on my list. I do have the Xbox 360, which I keep on my list though it's increasingly unlikely I'll get one since I got my PS3.
