Getting anything good for Cyber Monday?

It's Cyber Monday (cringe), which means there are tons of crazy deals to be had! Have you picked up any good loot today?

If you're looking for something specific, we've put together a pretty great roundup. Check it out and let us know if you see anything you like! www.engadget.com/2013/12/02/cyber-monday-2013-roun...

As for me, I've been looking for some deals on NEST thermostats and Pebble smartwatches (but haven't found anything yet)! Anyway, bring on the deals.

Yes, I'm getting a good case of "why do people still use the word 'cyber' to describe technology-related stuff?" That word makes my skin crawl now.

But no, I'm not buying anything because of this Monday sale. Just like I didn't buy in to Black Friday sales, I'm going to skip it. I don't believe you really get very many actual sales. Do you really think there are "tons of crazy deals to be had?" In the link you posted, I didn't see anything "crazy." Perhaps it's because I'm not the type to buy something just because it's on sale. I usually know exactly what my next purchase is going to be and I'm not going to look at a list of items and say "oh wow, I'd be a fool to not buy that!"

I'm also curious: you mentioned you were going to look at the Pebble watches and the Nest "thermometers*" but those weren't on the list you linked to. Where are you seeing those on sale?

*(Technically they're not thermometers. At least, not just thermometers...)

I completely agree. I actually felt dirty while typing that. And good point on the NEST as well. I believe I meant thermostat, right? (Updating post.)

No worries! Sorry for the "well, actually" there :)

And seriously, I find the Pebble the most interesting of the wearable devices, so if there's a deal on one I'd look at it. It would have to be a really good deal though because I have issues with it still...

I really want to try a Pebble, but can't make myself buy one. I keep hoping someone I know will buy one and hate it enough to let me play with it. :)

The only real downside I can think of in regards to the Pebble and how it would fit my gadget life is that I would have to stop wearing my Lego Boba Fett watch. :(

Agreed. I haven't seen any deals specifically related to the NEST or Pebble yet. Crossing my fingers and hoping I see something interesting!

Pay attention to your utility companies! Mine ran a special a few months back that allowed me to buy up two Nests at $100 off each.

I haven't seen anything that looked very interesting. If I was looking for a Tab 3, TigerDirect's sale of $129 would probably grab me, but most of what I have looked at doesn't look any cheaper than normal sales I have seen routinely throughout the year. Of course, being broke may have colored my worldview a little here. :/

I wasn't going to buy anything but then saw the roku 2 on amazon for like $49 ($30 off). I jumped on it. We just got rid of cable about a month ago. ALready have an appletv but thought for $50 you can't go wrong. Hooked it up last night but haven't had a lot of time to play around with it.
