I'm tuning into the Windows Phone 7 keynote, you can watch the stream here:

This platform really looks amazing. So polished in comparison to my Droid X. Why isn't Verizon getting this?!?!?!

Why oh why is it so freaking difficult to get the phone that I want to use on the carrier that I want to use in the US?

I think the KIN soured on Verizon. Looks good! I guess that Windows Phone 7 CDMA phones not coming for a while was a bit exaggerated.

I'm looking forward to it. I've picked out the phone I want, now to wait for Expansys to have it...

Well - as I said, I'm looking forward to WP7 but handset-wise, I actually can't buy the one I really would like to get (Pro) even when it's out - since it's CDMA. I'm waiting for the HD7 to be available.

Have they said whether you can use this with a Mac yet? The first previews I saw never confirmed this.

They didn't make any mention of Mac support during the keynote. We'll see within the next few weeks hopefully.

The word is that there will be a third-party solution available in the manner of Missing Sync. Don't expect iTunes one-upping or even integration, seems to be the message.

And once again Microsoft fails to understand why things like the iPhone, iPod and even Android crush them in the marketplace no matter how hard they try.

I used to be Windows Only from the 80's until only just a few years ago. Microsoft needs to stop standing in a room with their hands on their ears yelling "NA NA NA NA I can't hear you!!! LA LA LA LAAA". Mac's are not going anywhere especially now that they can natively run Windows.

Zune was the same way (and still is if I'm not mistaken) and did not come out with a Mac Client when they released it. Apple has had a Windows client for iTunes for nearly 5 years or more. Get with the program Microsoft. Pun Intended.

Third party means NOBODY's coming to the Party or Social or whatever lame marketing tag they put on this latest iteration. It looks great but if you plug it into your computer and it does nothing it's pretty stupid. Although synching directly to machines is eventually going to go the way of the dodo as well.

Even though they have been growing over the past few years, they're still a significantly smaller percentage of the market, as of today.

I'm making these numbers up here, but if you were making an app to sell to a market of 1000 people (900 use Windows, 100 use Mac) and it takes the same level of effort to develop for both platforms, it's obvious prioritize creating a Windows app over a Mac app. When Apple was had iPod/iTunes, they were developing for the 100 users who were on Mac. It was a no-brainer to bring it over to the 900 Windows users in order to get it where it is today.

I believe the Zune software is only used for media syncing, everything else is OTA. So if you like to use two separate devices for phone and media (like me) those Mac users won't suffer too much.
