Lenovo ThinkPad 8 Web Price now visible and jacked up!

This is bullshit. Lenovo just posted the web price for their Thinkpad 8 and the price was jacked up to $429 instead of $399 as they originally promised. Engadget please report this! Link below:

The device which is selling online doesn't support 3G/4G, only WiFi

Agreed. Plus they're nickel and diming on the smart cover that was implied as included. Plus it's windows 8.1 normal, you have to pay extra for pro which was also implied included at base. What a joke. Also no ms office unless you pay. And before they said "it comes with it" all these things come with it (if you pay) wink wink.

if you buy version with the windows 8.1 pro version, you need to purchase a windows office license. if you buy the windows 8.1 version, it comes with windows office home & student.

Ordered one immediately it was available and received a confirmation today with estimated delivery in March... Either this is very popular device already or the end of Jan release date is just a marketing thing.

Looks like they realized that it was a rip off, they just dropped the price to $379. But their site is fucked up, because if you add the $140 over priced 64GB upgrade, it adds $190 to the total price.

I think I am going to hold out for a USB solution that allows you to actually charge the machine while using the usb ports and the WWAN option.

Not only that, but the cost of the Windows pro upgrade is now 100$. Im not sure what Lenovo is doing here with this product. .but this is sloppy

Probably because regular people who dont need pro are bitching about it costing twice as much as the competing products. While the business people are just filling out a PO with their company and dont really care what its costs.

I dont really see a bunch of business people ordering these without the wwan option. This launch doesnt seem very lenovoesque.. its very thrown together and the product clearly isnt even ready for production, as seen by the Feb 27th launch date.
