Nokia HERE Maps for iOS is here.

The wait for Google Maps to return to iOS may have just gotten a whole lot easier. No, GMaps isn't in the App Store yet. But Nokia's HERE Maps is, and it brings a highly detailed global mapping system to the iPhone and iPad, including live traffic, public transportation info, offline maps, and turn-by-turn navigation. It's not a complete replacement for Google Maps, and its Point of Interest database isn't all that robust in many areas. But it's a good short-term replacement for, you know, that other mapping app. Looking for other options? Be sure to check out our Must-have Map and Transit Apps!

It doesn't look like their maps are updated for the retina display. The text and graphics are readable, but pretty fuzzy. Good news is that the transit directions seem to work pretty well!
