Power problems - beware

Beware of buying these second hand. We originally loved these monitors, nice displays with good refresh (especially at the time) however every single one has failed now! That's about 20 monitors all with exactly the same fault after a couple of years service.

The internal power supply fails. Both on the VX922 and the VX924. We've had an electronic engineer repair some of them, it seems to be an issue with the capacitors in the supply, but even these repairs aren't long lasting and he suspects there are other faulty components in the supply, or components that have been damaged by the original faults.

So if you see one second hand, it may not have much life left in it!

Yea this seems to be a known problem. There is a guide in the toms hardware forum (www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/page-247964_15_0.html) on how to change the capacitors. It seems to work for a lot of people.
