Practical applications of Lytro cameras?

I'm really interested in the idea of Lytro's light field cameras, especially their latest invention: the Lytro Illum, which looks like an EVIL style camera (electronic viewfinder, interchangeable lens). However, in this case, the lens isn't interchangeable. It boasts a 30 - 250mm f/2.0 lens. Pretty impressive, all things considered!

Anyway, you can see some interesting uses of focusing between objects in a photograph with the Lytro camera right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mx0HMY7E9R0

It's neat and I love that the camera is finding a way to capture a lot of data at once (I also love the pseudo 3D effect when the pan through various images), but I'm struggling to find a more practical use case for this. I suppose I can see it from a sort of art / documentary perspective.

Maybe I'm being an old curmudgeon, but what sorts of use cases could you see for this camera?

Focus no longer being a concern is it's own use case. Not only are pictures often not quite focused where you wanted, but the focus can be off by a small amount. Think, for example, of a DSLR and lens that have not had the focus micro adjustments done. If we can remove focus as a factor we will have far more keepers. And more then that, we could have single shots that have more then one use in print out. Depending on what item in the shot you want in focus at time of print. But only a single file saved.

I won a Lytro in a Facebook contest a few years ago. Used it for a week and haven't touched it since. I have, however, worn the branded American Apparel tee that came with it quite a bit. Because comfort.
