Samsung rolls out the Galaxy Note 10.1

As expected, Samsung rolled out the Galaxy Note 10.1 at a media event in New York this morning. The 10.1-inch tablet boasts an enhanced stylus-based interface using Samsung's S-Pen stylus, handwriting recognition, desktop-style multitasking (or at least the closest thing to it you're likely to find on a tablet based on a mobile OS), and a fast quad-core processor. But it also has a display that, at 1280 x 800, may disappoint anyone hoping for higher resolution. And its $499 price tag puts it squarely in competition with the latest iPad. Will the Note's stylus and handwriting recognition chops make it worth its premium price? If you're tired of virtual (or Bluetooth) keyboards, or are looking for something that will let you take quick notes on the run, it just might.

Nilay Patel from The Verge did a great review of this terrible product. I'd recommend watching the video review, if short on time.
