So here's the thing. I would love to get one of these for my big TV and move my old 360 into another room to use for Netflix, DVDs and Zune videos.

The problem is, Microsoft still only lets you use your gold account on one Xbox at a time, which essentially makes this a no-go for me. What are the chances that they're ever going to change that policy? I've got $300 for them if they ever do.

Big deal. Just get a $10 USB drive and put your profile on that. Move your thumb drive to which ever box you happen to be using at the time. No way would MS ever let you be signed in to two different consoles at the same time. It would screw up so many things: game saves, achievements, online status, etc. Oh and piracy. Why would my friend need a Gold account at his house if he could just keep my account and use it?

It is doubtful they will change it due to piracy concerns. The login is how it signs digital downloads and saves to a console and as such it is very necessary...

I got by this with a memory card where I could move my account to the living room or bedroom xbox very easily. You can now do this with any USB memory stick though, so it is not really an issue anymore!!

(sadly, my old memory cards won't work on this shiny new xbox)

My problem isn't moving my profile between the two machines. My problem is that I need to be able to use them both at the same time. My wife like to enjoy Netflix streaming and Zune video downloads, often while I want to be playing games. If I'm signed into one system, she can't use the other one. As I only have one system now this isn't a huge problem (though it does crop up when I want to play GFWL games on the PC while she's using the Xbox). However, it's a major consideration for me if I were to ever buy a second console.

still not a problem.... do what I do - get her an xbox live account... you can use your netflix account on both xboxes as long as one of you is logged on...

remember, the $50 a year charge comes out to a few bucks a month... its not really a big deal.....

if you STILL have a problem with that, put a roku box in the living room or bedroom (or any other room for that matter).... they are inexpensive, fast, instant-on, and can be found extra cheap on ebay/online... theres no subscription fees for it (outside of your netflix membership of course)
