As far as I'm concerned, Sonic Adventure is the game that killed the Sonic series. Turning Sonic into an adventure game took away the main thing that made Sonic games fun, bouncing around at incredible speeds.
The last good Sonic game was Sonic & Knuckles, IMO.
I remember the first time I saw Sonic Adventure in a magazine (still got it somewhere). It looked amazing, and I LOVED it when I first got it. It's still quite fun to play now, but has soooo many bugs and problems.
It was probably the last Sonic game I actually enjoyed too. They went very downhill from then on. Shame...
dude sonic adventure was such a good game. hours and hours and hours wasted. actually i take that back, not wasted. very well spent hours.
signed. last decent 3D sonic.
I remember being blown away by the visuals, and than I heard the voice acting...
haha! Yes, I forgot about the voice acting. I used to have to play the game with the Japanese soundtrack. I couldn't stand the English one!!
The voice acting...spectacular, haha. Where did they find those people?
The Sonic game was the Wii was fun for a few hours. Fun except for the fact that it wasn't like Sonic at all.
Man, that was the best new console i ever got. i remember how shockingly good sonic and soul caliber looked! and the vmu thing was awesome too. there were so many great games for dreamcast. shenmue, jet set radio, power stone, phantasy star online, skies of arcadia, crazy taxi... i remember that it even had a web browser! i really think that the console was too far ahead of its time. maybe that was its downfall.
the Dreamcast was amazing and failed through no fault of its own... the fact is the Playstation 1 had just sold a million consoles and about all 100 million of those people wanted to upgrade to the PS2, not the Dreamcast... oh well...
yeah i think you're you're right about that. here's something else to think about...if sega had as much money as microsoft does, they could have stuck around long enough to have success. if you think about it, both companies are kind of the same. the xbox had a following (maybe almost as big as the following that the dreamcast had), but it wasn't as strong as the ps2. microsoft lost big on that system, but it paved the way for the 360 which has turned into a huge success and is putting alot of pressure on sony.
