Want to Play Destiny... Which Console to Buy?
I've never really been a PlayStation guy.. Went from SNES to N64 to Xbox to PC (and almost bought a 360 many times). Especially for an FPS, I think there is no better controller than the sexy Xbox controller.
I played the Destiny beta on the Xbox. I liked it there. I want to get it on the Xbox. However, I looked through the game library of the Xbox and there doesn't really seem to be many good games out. I'm not really an FPS kinda guy. I prefer action/adventure games along the lines of Ninja... Read more →

Nintendo is streaming live from the Treehouse all day -- are you watching?
Today Nintendo is streaming live all day from their "super secret" Treehouse division -- those are the product development/localization guys who work directly on all your favorite games. Normally they're kept under wraps (and even at Nintendo HQ they're gated off in their own area) but at E3 Nintendo was broadcasting live from a stage on the show floor with Treehouse members as our hosts, and now... Microsoft might buy Mojang (the Minecraft guys) for some serious cash
Yesterday it was reported that Microsoft might be purchasing Mojang, the makers of Minecraft, in a deal valued at over $2 billion.
Microsoft's interest in Minecraft is not a surprise given the game's massive popularity, especially among children who represent the next generation of gamers.
But Mojang agreeing to a purchase is a bit... Read more →

Destiny is coming!
Tomorrow Destiny arrives for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Reviewers started receiving their copies over the weekend and the servers went online today. Of course, that means no day-one reviews tomorrow, so gamers will be picking the game up tomorrow based on the Bungie name, the pre-release news and trailers and of course, the hype.
Bungie explained their decision... Read more →

Operation Finish all the Games, August 2014
So we're a few days into September (and man it got hot really fast), so that means it's time for me to update you on my self-imposed challenge to...
The rules, if you didn't see the previous posts:
  1. Beat or finish one game a month. That usually means completing the main story mode and getting the credits to roll.
  2. Side-quests don't need to be finished. That way leads to madness.
  3. I can finish more than one game a month, but it doesn't...

Operation Finish all the Games, July 2014
It's the first day of August so it's time for another update on how this project is going. Oh, to be young and have summers off, because then I'd be playing games all the time and my backlog wouldn't stand a chance. Alas, I am an adult with adult responsibilities and summers mean nothing. Nothing! Well, they mean longer days and having to put the air conditioner in the window.
The basic rules:
  1. Beat or finish one game a month. To...

PlayStation Now: What it should look like.
PlayStation Now has just entered the open beta in the US & Canada for PS4 owners and the comments sections of every game review site have been littered with the outrage at the admittedly outrageous prices. The following is my attempt to illustrate what I believe the PS NOW service should actually look like in order to:
  1. Earn its place in the world
  2. Provide Outstanding Value to PlayStation Gamers and Gaming as a whole
  3. Innovate and break down expectations and traditional ways in a digital world
  4. Much...
