Good stuff. I've had a TiVo Series 3 since 2005 and I've been a big fan of it. Going to pre-order the premiere as soon as I can.
The UI appears to be a great start to the return, but once you get used to using four tuners and watching your content in any room of the house it is hard to go back. TiVo still has the same number of tuners as it has for 8 years and the MRV requires copying which means most can't use it because the content is marked Copy Once (the recording is the first copy).
So yeah TiVo seems to have done a good job on the UI, but there are so many other things that are needed before it is on par with Media Center, the FiOS DVR and Moxi.
Will it worked with switched digital video cable channels? I didn't catch that.
I'm confused about the seeming lack of cable VOD integration. TiVo made a big announcement a year ago about their partnership with SeaChange and then nothing has come from it. In the posted images of the Premiere UI, there even seems to be cable VOD integration.
I'm a systems integrator, and there is a stack of Tivo's, dead, past, and present behind me. I can't wait to see the improvements. Our clients love them... when they work properly. Tech support as well as customer service always tested one's patience, but once you are up and operating, their great. The customer interface had it's flaws, but hopefully their attention to that has been incorporated into the new units.
