Can't say I'm interested in doing it from my CELLPHONE. As is, I hardly make phone calls with my cellphone, so I'm not exactly motivated to make more calls if I can see the face of the person I'm calling.
On another note, it would take phone sex to another level, lol
lol - the first meaningful response!!!!!!!!! ;)
If it works with Skype, I'd be really interested in it. I work a lot of evenings and it would be nice to video chat with my kids anywhere I have wifi.
News coverage and tv shows. Maybe court stuff...but mostly parents spying on their teenagers.
How would parents spy on their teenagers with this?
... figuring out if they're with friends or out somewhere they didn't ask their parents about by seeing where they're at.
Won't really matter since you need wifi to use it.
Exactly, "Young man/lady, you will turn on video conferencing right this minute or I will go to where you said you will be." Then they release the dogs of war.
Yeah, that camera is definitely the least of your worries. If you are really worried about being somewhere you aren't supposed to be, then maybe you should be more worried about the tracking feature AT&T sells for iPhones and other GPS phones.
Technical issues aside, this sounds like a parental issue more than anything. Feel sorry for any who have parents like this.
Having thought about, it would be good for business meetings. If you're meeting with Zuckerberg and you can hear him, but want to know exactly how much he is sweating (just saw that, wow) then it could be good. Maybe Apple is trying to nail RIM for good and introduce themselves as the corporate phone. This is a good start, but need to spread themselves to other carriers, but then again as was said it's just wifi. And that may be to deflect anger from AT&T. All speculation, I suppose there will be apps that take advantage of it to. Like a lie to me app that catches microexpressions. There, I've gotten right back to mistrust...should i copyright that? Can I?
What if the person talking to you had the option of which camera, or you had the option of which camera was used? You could be talking to spouse while (speaker phone) pointing the back phone at the kids talking in the park or baby sleeping, or even which one of these kinds of ketchup did you want me to buy? Who knows?
As the user you have the option of choosing which camera is shown. They did show that feature.
I was till I saw you need wifi to use it...
Usually though kids are saying they are at someones house who has wifi, and if they say for some reason they don't have wifi they'll call the parents, it'll make 'em decide wether or not to be suspicious. Oh yeah, and it'll also be an upgrade in sexting...so much for no porn on the iPhone.
can't wait for the "appalling iphone 4 sexting" reports to roll in!!! maybe Steve-O will have a heart attack....
naah, if it truly was open, so I could use any phone, any computer then maybe (guess it is called Skype once these lazy buggers decide to have an app for Android). But even then I most of the time would use normal voice and for business TCs I use the installed solutions with encription where I have a service man fixing it if it doesn't work...
glad to know most people still don't care about this....
maybe in the future we will.... (when broadband pipes have near infinite capacity!!) :)
