The Engadget Reader Meetup: The Aftermath (part II, DC)
We know some of you were bumming about not being able to make the DC reader event last night (and you're all still bumming you missed New York), and others really want to relive the moment. We were gonna write you a 21,000 word essay, but we figured a photo gallery of the 21 best shots we saw would do you just fine. Thanks again to the hundred fifty plus DC peeps who came out, see you again soon!

yeah DUDE, what were you expecting? an orgy?
Steve @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
So what was talked about by the people up on stage? What's out? What's coming out? Product A vs B?
gt @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
thanks ryan. i admit i cant tell the whole story since we left after 20 minutes of standing around at the bar waiting for something to happen. we thought that was it and didnt know there'd be a real presentation afterwards.
i thought i was a geek before this meetup but afterward i found i have a lot to work on.
JimmyTee @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
Yeah, I wonder what it's like to touch a girl...
morph @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
what were some of the blogs that the ryan and peter said they read on the regular? I'd like to check those out but cant remember. All the beer I had that night has affected my short term memory! :)
Peter Rojas @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
I mentioned waxy.org and http://www.fimoculous.com
I think Ryan mentioned http://www.PSFK.com and http://www.inhabitat.com.
Caldwell @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
NAHSVILLE! GET YOUR BOOTAYS ON DOWN TO THE DURTY SOUTH!
kerensky @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
Who is that smiling guy on the microphone, in pic no. 15? And who is the guy in the cap?
Andrew Christian @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
#69: Pic15 is Peter Rojas, founder/editor-in-chief of engadget and the guy in the cap is Ryan Block, managing editor of engadget.
(btw, Peter/Ryan, I'm the guy that was in the Nationals t-shirt, first one there, last one out. :)
jorwex @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
my friend put a few stickers on the backs of metro seats on our ride back home.
ryan/peter: what were some of the other blogs you mentioned? there were a dozen or so between the two of you. oh and the link ryan gave for fimoculous has a comma in it(broken)
cool time overall i'd say.
(more giveaways!)
kerensky @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
That's Peter?
Hmm, pretty cute.
Casey @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM

mdaltezza @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM

retro @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
I still wish you guys would have a meet-up here in Toronto. :P
George @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
I like the gratuitous photos of the only two girls there.
Peter Rojas @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
We're going to try and do as many meetups as we can in as many cities as we can. I'm talking to our ad sales guy, he's going to try and get us a sponsor who'll help us cover our travel costs and hopefully contribute some sweet prizes for our giveaways. If you work for a company that might be interested in sponsoring an Engadget Reader Meetup, send us an email at engadget at gmail . com and I'll put you in touch
tech2theXtreme @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
wait, there were 2 girls there? *Gulp...suh-weet!
Jeff L. @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
From the images, i see at least 4 different girls...
Anyways, i was planning on coming but my parents weren't so keen of the idea. Another reason why being 16 sucks.
lazymegaman @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
Not only that, but in one shot it looks as though one of the girls was drinking! :-)
AstroRobyn @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
I hope that it's not too late, but I must send in some pictures of my own. One needs to be posted of the Trio battle that took place.
Also I'm a girl and I was there, yet somehow I managed to not be in any pictures. There actually was a decent amount of females there, but the gender ratio was definitly intensive on the male side.
Matt @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
Come to Miami please!!!!!!!!!!!
Dignan17 @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
No way man! I count at least five!
But seriously, it was great of you guys to come down here. I'm bummed I had to work until 8, then race my way through torrential downpours to get there, but it was worth it for the end of the Q&A and the video.
ps-I'm the guy with the car stereo MP3 player (or empeg)
Daryl @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
San Diego Please!
ChrisXS @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
Nice stage setup! Hopefully another NYC meetup will happen again, this time with ample room.
alexi @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM

Tino @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM

I shell wear my "Treo - never forget!" T-shirt!!!111
AstroRobyn @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM

CoinDoll @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
I'm with AstroRobeyn on the 'females' issue. There were, certainly, more than five. Of course, while I did somehow make it into the background of a photo, many women didn't make it into the photos posted. Probably because there were so many people there.
matt t @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
do you have to be 18 to get into one of these?
aleandro @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
What's the story of the last pic?
mrdelayer @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
not exactly a magnet for the ladies, eh?
Will @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
Hi I'm from Australia,
Looks like the even turned out really well!
Can you have a reader meet here in Sydney???
I'll convince your ad sales guy ;)
AstroRobyn @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
Yeah CoinDoll, it was probaly the crowd issue. I may have made it into the background of one photo, but in other shots I know where I was and how the camera somehow managed to cut me off each time.
Matt t you don't have to be !8 to get in, they handed out drinking tickets and that was about the extent of the age limitations.
Aleandro, which picture are you talking about?
granny down east @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
>not exactly a magnet for the ladies, eh?
I'd show up.
Wilmington NC
Mike Corley @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM

Trixie @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM

booboo @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
