The Nexus One began life as a rumor that Google would finally get serious about creating an Android-powered "Googlephone" -- a device not just designed to blow the world away with high-end specs, but to fundamentally change the way phones and wireless plans are sold and marketed. It turned out that was only partially the case: you'll still need to sign up for a regular plan from the GSM carrier of your choosing, but Google is selling the HTC-sourced Nexus One direct to consumers -- a first for the company. And with Snapdragon, a 3.7-inch AMOLED display, Android 2.1, and a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, there are plenty of reasons to buy.
