If sound quality does matter to you, and you're on something of a budget, and the optical connection is important to you, AND you don't have room for a 5.1 system.... At that juncture I would say yes, the Rockus 3D makes sense. There's no question it's an excellent speaker set, but the pricetag is awfully steep for a consumer 2.1 system. quote

We don’t like the 3D mode and a few redesigns for the next revision could very well place these speakers into the must have category with very little competition. For now, they come highly recommended, but with a few niggling issues.

Everything about this speaker system was made right; from the anodized aluminum satellites to the tight solid wood sub-woofer, no matter what form of media was played on these speakers they lived up to the task.

The rockus 3D kit is perfect for dorm rooms and apartments, and connects to a gaming console, television, or computer where the competition cannot. If Antec can market these speakers to the right audience, the value becomes apparent.
