The newest iMac is a great product, and despite Apple's reputation for making pricey things, it's actually a great value, too.

The Apple iMac 27-inch (Late 2012) all-in-one PC is the pinnacle of desktop design and manufacturing. It's not perfect, or cheap, but it's worth every penny.

If you are in the market for a new desktop and have a couple grand to drop, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything out there this slick and satisfying. Just be sure to rip all your CDs before you make the leap.

The new, thinner, 27-inch iMacs are striking in terms of their design, but the loss of two convenient features—internal optical drives and built-in FireWire ports—dampens my enthusiasm for the makeover.

The price aside, if you're in need of an iMac upgrade or you are considering a new desktop for the home or office, the new iMacs are worth a very long, hard stare.

With strong performance the 2012 iMac proves that beauty needn’t be merely skin-deep, and that all-in-one needn’t mean conceding speed. That, and Apple’s creative use of components and design, makes it our pick of the all-in-ones.

While we had reservations about the 21.5-inch in the workplace, the 27-inch model offers enough beef to dispel those fears. It's a big, powerful, and thoroughly enjoyable machine to use and one with which you won't be disappointed.

Apple again delivers the all-in-one desktop to beat, with brisk performance and a glorious thin-edged, reflection-fighting display as well as Cupertino's classy, admirable software. Perhaps the most pleasant surprise: Avoid the options, and you (almost) avoid the famous Apple price premium.

The 27-inch 2012 iMac has real style, but it doesn't sacrifice function to form. Its screen is excellent, has lots of power under the hood and the Fusion Drive option is a great alternative to a speedy-but-expensive SSD or a capacitous-but-slow HDD.

It’s probably overkill for more modest computer users and the most extreme gamers and power users – those that demand their games look the absolute best or spend all day rendering video edits – will find it lacking. But, for the rest of us, it’s a good buy, if you can afford.

The 2012 generation of the 27" iMac is slimmer than ever (bye-bye DVD drive), and has lots of computing and gaming power. Oh yeah, and both the screen and audio are top-notch. This is one excellent all-in-one computer! All it really needs is a TV tuner and a less snooty price.

The 27-inch iMac (late 2012) is in a class of its own when it comes to all-in-one desktop computing. It will cater to a wide range of users who are looking for more power and a larger display than can be delivered in a notebook.

This machine replaced a 2008 Mac Pro and I am very satisfied so far. Speed is fantastic and I cannot get over the screen. It is almost to big, if that is possible. Speed: The model I chose has a 3TB Fusion Drive in it and I am loving the start up speed as well as in other large applications....

One of the best Apple products I bought. Design is top notch. It's a very slim machine for what it houses and is capable of. Though all the marketing images show it at a slight angle which people might mistake and think it's actually as thin as only that edge it still is very thin/slim. The...

The 2012 27" iMac is my first foray into the world of Apple's iMac line. I had been, up until recently, an avid gaming PC builder, and the only Apple products I had owned were laptops, and the various iOS devices. Needless to say, I simply got tired of dealing with all the drivers, firmware...

Overall this iMac is amazing. The only issues I have is still the USB's are a pain to get to when you want to plug in a peripheral. It's just annoying. With the thin bezel I understand there is no other place to have them but user accessibility is not great.

Just love the design, and the capabilities. Love the zippiness of the machine. Having only 4GB on my MBP 17" Late 2010 model and comparing how much more faster 8GB is just blew me away! Now I want to buy 2X8GB RAM to even make it zippier knowing that I'll be using FCP X, Garageband etc....

I am extremely happy with my top of the line iMac 27. I paid almost $3000 for this computer but I feel the price is worthwhile since it is both a Mac and a Windows PC. I use Bootcamp to run WIndows 7 and also run Parallels 8 which lets me have both Mac and Windows apps running at the same time...
