I've always really wondered about this. There are so many people I know who have never owned a Mac or an iPhone or an iPad and probably once swore by their iPod, yet utterly DESPISE Apple. Many of these people get excited when they hear of Apple's blunders and just talk **** about their successes.

Is Apple losing their focus on hardware?

I've never bought into the rhetoric of "Post-Jobs" finger pointing when it comes to Apple. I've defended the notion of Apple's approach to small iterations and refinement in favor of the throw everything at the wall style of advancements.
However yesterdays keynote was the first time I've felt like Apple is beginning to lose their focus on keeping it simple for consumers. This is from the Harvard Business Review[1]:
