Overall, Time Capsule does exactly what Apple told us it would do: make it easier for the vast majority of users to start backing up regularly over their network. That's to be commended, and if you're a Mac user and you've got the coin, there's no reason not to consider a Time Capsule when the time comes to replace your router -- we've always found Airport devices to be rock-solid, and Time Capsule is no exception. quote

Time Capsule does exactly what Apple told us it would do: make it easier for the vast majority of users to start backing up regularly over their network... if you're a Mac user and you've got the coin, there's no reason not to consider a Time Capsule when the time comes to replace your router.

Based on the significant improvements added via firmware ... Time Capsule clearly wasn’t ready to ship to customers when it went out the door in late February. However, those updates have ironed out many of Time Capsule’s initial glitches, leaving a solid backup device in its place.

So, if you want Mac backup in one simple unit, there is no better solution than a Time Capsule. And this one is slightly improved over the last. But unlike a year ago when the first generation drive came out, there are other options that are slightly cheaper.

Apple has done a fine job of building an easy way for Leopard users to perform Time Machine backups over the network, but don't expect advanced NAS features.

Minor criticisms aside, this is an excellent product. It might sacrifice configurability for simplicity, but that's exactly what many home users want. And with the new capacity upgrade, there's never been a better time to buy a Time Capsule.

The Good: The Time Capsule simply worked. I had long struggled to find a wireless router that was both fast and easy to use. That's why I was so pleased with my first (and only) 18 months using my 1TB Time Capsule. I encountered none of the intermittent signal problems I had experienced...

2010-09-13 Apple announced a repair program for the TC back in July I promptly called Applecare. Within 3 days, I dropped off the TC at the local 3rd party Apple warrantee provider. After they fixed it, I asked if they would let me pay the difference between the 2T & 1T TC, and take home a...

It was a bit pricey for the amount of storage but as MobileMe matures, this device will gain more and more usability. Set up was simple and we have not had any issue with it going down from what I remember. At any given time, there are 3-4 laptops accessing the network and internet from this...

The Time Capsule is a wonderful companion to the Mac OS\X Time Machine program. It automates backups to the router's internal hard drive for set it and forget it backups. There is just one design flaw. See, Steve Jobs hates fan noise almost as much as he hates styli. So, they design the...

I know folks have had an issue with the original models, but honestly this one seems fairly stable, no hard drive issues. We are using three of these as just 1 (but not the only) back up solutions in the office (we also use cloud/offsite and a server located in the office). They work splendidly...

Very good and easy to use backup system. Reccommend it to anyone just for the sake of backing up your system. There are reports and sites dedicated to the flimsiness and crappyness of Time Capsules but I've yet to see one crash.

Although I haven't spent too much time adjusting network features, the few times I've had to do anything it's not as intuitive as I'd like it to be.
