I'd like to know which one is better, not which one is worth the money!
I'm looking to get a DSLR in the $600-700 price range for Christmas, and it's very important that it can take good 1080p videos.
So now I don't know wether I should go for the Nikon D5100 or the Canon 600D.
Of course shooting still images is also very important.
What are the major technical differences between them? Sensor types? Which gives more freedom to control the actual shot? Best bang for the buck?
Quick short answer, which one is better? More expensive?

Now, my Coolpix broke 2 months ago, and I sent it to Nikon, who sent me a replacement for free. The replacement recently broke after about one month, and I am about to send it in again. Long story short, has anyone had any experiences with Canon customer service? If so was it good or bad? I don;t want to invest so much in a camera if I don't get...
I have an aging XSi currently - and don't get me wrong, it works beautifully for what I do, but I am considering upgrading to a newer DSLR for no particular reason. Having looked at the cost differences between the T3i/60D, they seem very minimal - however going with the 60D of course is slightly more substantial offerings, especially with the kit lenses. Would you suggest I upgrade only to the T3i, go full on with the 60D, or wait until the 70D comes out (I'm hearing towards the end of the...
Is it a better starter DSLR? And, what lens pack do you suggest for the first lens purchase (aside from the kit lens)?
