Criteria Comments Rating
  • Speed and features It makes everything else in the house look like ancient. great!
  • Design and form factor Keyboard and virtual keyboard are excellent. The 12.5 inch screen is bigger than most tablets and brilliant in all lighting conditions tried so far. great!
  • Battery life Not sure yet, being running it connected to power since opening the box good
  • Display Amazing great!
  • Durability Feels really really solid. The Carbon Fibre thingy makes a big difference great!
  • Expandability no DVD drive, but then I guess this is a machine for the future and does not intend to look backward good
  • Noise doesn't make any that I can hear. The speakers are ok, nothing flash, but better than the cheapies you would normally get on a cheapie machine great!
  • Portability (size / weight) Ideal for using lounging on the couch at home, but may be a bit clunky on a bus or train. good
Detailed review
Unpacking straight from the box was a novel experience for a Windows fanboi like myself. Not used to such a elegant experience. On powering up it was on-line within 5-10 minutes and is beautifully integrated with Windows Live and Sky Drive. I'm a hardcore g+ user so am missing the fully integrated g+ experience at the moment, but can only hope that a g+ tile/app will appear soon.

A pretty impressive range of apps to fool around with, mostly useful stuff, but do not expect the fast volume of useful and useless crap at the Google Play store or the Apple App Store.

The machine feels really really solid, works amazingly smoothly and makes my Samsung Galaxy S3 feel clunky.

After three days of use, I can see it is the future for touch screen enabled PC's. I found myself even reaching to touch the TV screen to answer commands/questions, it just seems the right way to interact with a screen.

The virtual keyboard is the best I have used.

Overall it has got to be given a 10 out of 10, and makes everything else in the house look ancient.
