The Etymotic Research canalphone was the original and the Etymotic hf3 sits easily among the very best earphones available at any price. With the hf3, Etymotic Research is offering a superbly balanced earphone/mic combination that will bring out music like few earphones can. quote

Overall I was very happy with these earbuds, until they started creating static after 14 months. The design is very compact , and the triple flange inserts work very well (although it does take some time to get used to them) The price is a little high for the durability I received.

Etymotic's decades of research shine in the HF3s. They produce balanced, accurate sound without needing much power (though they sound good with an amp too). The wide array of included tips are sure to please anyone, but if somehow they don't, for a modest fee and a trip to your local audiologist...
