Fitbit syncs with it's online service, which in turn can be linked with Lose It! and RunKeeper. Since the FitBit One also tracks sleep all this data is populated into Lose It! to see if you are meeting you daily calories and sleep goals. If you add in a FitBit Aria scale data collection for your health is an almost passive process.
Despite being Bluetooth 4.0 for iPad3+ and iPhone4S+ it still requires a dongle for Bluetooth 4.0 Macs (they are working on this). While wireless the sync process is still manually evoked
Overall the battery life is quite good, 5-6 days, and the data is decently accurate. If you are on the fence between this and the jawbone up.. I would suggest the FitBit, because of the ecosystem.
