The Fuji FinePix SL1000 has you covered from less than 1” to extreme telephoto shots without ever having to move or change out any lenses like an interchangeable lens system camera. This bridge camera features a 16 megapixel sensor, a 3" tilting screen, and a lens with 50x optical zoom. As far as video goes, it can record 1080i footage at 60fps. You can expect the SL1000 to drop in March 2013 with a price of $400.

This is a camera with a lot of manual controls that a beginner can grow with as you gain confidence. But it feels like while Fuji poured so much money and energy into getting the camera's advanced features up to speed, it overlooked some of the elements that make a good user experience.

The SL1000 is a solid option for entry-level super-zoom photographers, and those looking to save a few bucks might well consider it over the similarly equipped Canon SX50 HS.
