HTC One S (T-Mobile) vs GSM Galaxy Nexus
details
I'm currently sporting an HTC Sensation 4G and eligible for an update. This brings me to the question of whether to get the htc one s or the galaxy nexus. All the reviews I've read have made it clear both are cream of the crop Android devices. I would appreciate any feedback on this topic. Here are a few things to consider:
-I love the pure google experience that a nexus product will bring since i owned the htc nexus one and enjoyed all it brought.
-The price of the galaxy isnt so much an large... Read more →

Are Developers Losing Interest in Android?
details
I have read that:
  1. Developers can make more money on iOS
  2. It takes more time to develop an application for Android as opposed to iOS
  3. Developers may have to account for variations in more than 550 different Android gadgets. Apple, by contrast, has just a few models.
  4. Distributing Android software to multiple application stores takes more work. For Android, there are 90 app stores.
  5. It's also not as easy to charge Android users for apps as it is on Apple devices.
For you Android developers out there. What... Read more →

Do seperate/proprietary android markets hurt the android platform?
details
I've been meaning to ask this for a while, and I'll keep this to the point. What are the opinions out there regarding separate and some even proprietary markets for android apps? I don't know about you guys but I'm constantly hearing about random markets and it's a bit frustrating, personally. I USED to grab the free apps on amazon but it caused undesired (and unfortunate) side effects with the regular market if those apps happened to be available there. Issues like random notifications for... Read more →

Selecting audio output on an Android tablet?
details
If I have a BT headset attached to my tablet, can I route the sound output to the miniplug on the device and still use some of the hard buttons on the BT headset?

I'm mainly thinking that I want a Bluetooth remote for my tablet and the only ones that I can find are attached to headsets or have miniplug out. I need to keep the audio going through the device directly (through headphone or stripped audio from the HDMI-out), any advice?

Thanks!

Is there really Lack of honeycomb Apps? (as asked by an Ipad 2 owner)
details
All those people that have an Android Honeycomb/Icecream Sandwich tablet ... When you complain that there is a lack of apps, what do you mean?
Do you mean:
1. The existing apps just crash?
2. The apps you run don't have the options icon on the top right?
3. The apps don't look right on a larger screen?
4. Or some other meaning?
I bought an old Xoom for cheap to try out ICS when it comes out, and it has TONS of apps! Almost everything in the market works! I got like 20 top quality games. In fact I'd... Read more →

Is the Facebook Android app always running in the background? Here's a fix.
details
If you're like me, you've probably been annoyed that Facebook's Android app is always running in the background, even when you've disabled notifications. How to fix this? In the settings screen, re-checked Notifications so the "Refresh interval" option becomes available and then change that to "Never". Then disable Notifications again. Force quit the app and it should never be running again.
I have only tested this on stock Ice Cream Sandwich, but I don't see any reason why this shouldn't work on... Read more →

How Do You Feel That Most Android Users Can't Upgrade to 4.0 ICS?
details
Will You Be Getting An Upgrade?
It seems that most of Google's installed base is stuck on versions of Android more than a year old, and few will get updates on devices more than a year old, even if they are still under contract.
"Blogger Michael Degusta revealed in October that 45 percent of Google's installed base of active Android users were stuck using software released in the middle of 2010. That's because handset makers like Samsung, HTC, Motorola and others do not make those updates... Read more →
