The poster child for extreme data protection in computing (it can apparently survive gasoline fires and sledgehammers), the ioSafe SoloPRO is great hard drive with exemplary service and data loss protection.

While the industry moves towards more offsite backups, a sturdy, secure drive in house can still serve a purpose. If your Internet connection is ever severed or you encounter domestic hazards like fire and flood, the SoloPro is a reliable line of defense.

We loved it as a backup for sensitive files on our in-house NAS; caring for our critical files with its tough-to-penetrate shell. Coupled with the data recovery service, we sleep pretty easy knowing the ioSafe can be bolted to the floor and is ready to withstand fire, water and the occasional bear.

The cost of the unit is insignificant when compared to the cost of that big data recovery – something also covered in the purchase price of the ioSafe. When it comes to the only remaining copy of your data, the more insurance you have, the better.
