The Kodak Playsport is an excellent minicamcorder that can take some rough treatment and capture solid HD video.

The Kodak PlaySport Zx3 shoots top-notch 1080p video and still images, and offers a waterproof frame, but we've seen pocket camcorders that are easier to use.

Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Indeed the Zx3 transcended what we expected to find for its very fair price - and you can take it out in the rain too.

The Kodak Playsport doesn’t break any particular new ground. However, at just shy of £90 it provides quite a lot for your money, offering both 1080p and underwater shooting.

About Jan 26, 2012

If you need a durable video camera to take on vacation and take underwater, the Playsport is definitely a great choice. If you're looking for archival footage of precious family memories, it shouldn't be your first choice.

Talk about amazing specs! Shoot 1080i @30fps or 720p @60fps! Use any memory card you want, replaceable batteries are cheap, waterproof to 10ft. Rugged as anything out there. On paper this kills the Flip. However the software has taken me sometime to get used to and my rule is that a video must be...

This is the best water proof camera for the price. It makes good shots in the water and is great to film rough water scenarios. Do not expect more. This camera does not film very well outside of its comfort zone. It is not the best for filming other things.

Battery life is okay. Last about 90 minutes of continuous recording. Menu and buttons not that easy to use. Only icons. No wording to guide you. Lovely video. I have not tried to record under water, but it held up well in a heavy mist.
