The V600 and V400 speakers are certainly impressive in their own right, particularly as an alternative to iPhone and iPad speaker docks or desktop speakers for your laptop: for a start, the sound quality puts most to shame, and flicking between all three is straightforward.

Korus has demonstrated that there is still a lot of room left in consumer speakers to innovate and disrupt. When the speakers become available in the fall, I highly recommend checking them out if you are considering Sonos or one of the many Bluetooth-based wireless speakers.

The Korus system is a premium system, designed from the ground up with audiophiles in mind who are tired of the limitations of wireless streaming, and the nature of twice-compressed music when dealing with Bluetooth. The Korus is the wireless speaker that Apple would build today.

The Korus V600 and V400 are my new favorite speakers, but I sure wish I could use them with more devices. Maybe the next version of the Korus speakers will add support for the good old iPod classic, micro USB or Bluetooth. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

This is not a portable speaker. Sure, it comes with a handle, and it's been placed into the "docks / portable speakers" category, but after lugging this thing six blocks down Broadway: no.
